हालांकि, इससे पहले एक अध्यान में यह कहा गया था कि ग्लूकोज के सेवन से चीजों को याद रखने की क्षमता में सुधार आता है लेकिन नये अध्ययन ने इस बात को गलत साबित कर दिया है। ‘इस अध्ययन में लगभग 49 लोगों को शामिल किया गया है। इन सभी लोगों ने स्वीट ड्रिंक का सेवन किया जिसमें ग्लूकोज, सुक्रोज, फ्रक्टोज शामिल थे। इसके सेवन के बाद उन्हें सवाल हल करने के लिए दिये गये। परिणामों में सामने आया कि जिन लोगों ने ग्लूकोज और सुक्रोज का सेवन किया, उन्होंने उन लोगों के मुकाबले परीक्षा में बहुत खराब प्रदर्शन किया जिन्होंने फ्रुक्टोज का सेवन किया था।
